"Southern Values"

Films: Cape Fear (1991)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized Area/Swamp

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Some of you might remember the story of a man convicted and yet somehow managing to escape justice for a while just to hunt down the man who got him in prison in the first place. Almost thirty years ago, that was the tale of Max Cady. Now, we come back to it.

History: Aside from being the convicted rapist that we remember, Max Cady now also happens to be a hypocritical fundamentalist. And as you can guess, he's after the family of the attorney who screwed up on the job. And he'll take them out one by one.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: All of Cady's efforts to corrupt the attorney fall on deaf ears when the two engage in a brutal fight that ends with the madman too exhausted to escape the surf he's in. He's swept away by the raging waters as he raves about entering the Promised Land.

Powers/Abilities: Able to take an obscene level of damage.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-This Cady is a slight step above the previous one for just how much more unhinged he is. Nobody likes a complete southern hick who also tries to justify his actions as being blessed by God. There is no God where Cady goes.

Trivia: -Pretty much all of Cady's scenes were improvised by his actor, Robert DeNiro.

-Other actors considered for Cady included Willem Defoe, Nicolas Cage, and Jack Nicoleson.

It'll do worse than haunt them...

Even in the remake, he still looks like a fool.

He's the type of guy who would laugh at the inspiration for Giygas.
A portal into a madman's deluded nightmares.

If only we could punch him through the phone.
